THE OFFICIAL HANDOVER OF THE NORDART PRIZE 2019

The #NordArt Prize 2019 went to the Mongolian sculptor #OCHIRBOLD Ayurzana. The award ceremony was originally planned for the opening in 2020. Since then, it could not take place because of the travel restrictions. During the last NordArt week, the Cultural Envoy of Mongolia to the Federal Republic of Germany and the official cooperation partner for the Mongolian art at the NordArt, OYUNTUYA Oyunjargal has vicariously received the award. The award will be handed over to Ochirbold in Mongolia.
Hans-Julius and Johanna Ahlmann, hosts at the Kunstwerk Carlshütte and donors of the 10,000 euro art prize, thus pay tribute to an artist who has been associated with NordArt since 2015 and has always fascinated with his forms of expression. As his European debut, Ochirbold exhibited his sculptures as part of the Mongolian Country Focus at NordArt 2015 and received the Public Choice Award. Since then, Ochirbold has been travelling worldwide as an ambassador of NordArt. Ochirbold's walk-in sculpture installation "Degree" was presented in the Skulpturenpark in 2019 and in the halls of the Carlshütte in NordArt 2021.
